Armenian modern and contemporary art represents a rich and complex narrative shaped by a unique history. Created both in Armenia and across a vast global diaspora, it reflects the intersections of cultural, historical, and personal experiences that have forged an art scene of remarkable diversity and depth.
Yet, despite significant contributions to major art movements and cultural dialogues, Armenian art has often remained underrepresented in international discourse and scholarship.

Pau Garcia is the cofounder and lead of the studio Domestic Data Streamers, which has spent the last decade at the forefront of blending data with design and participative art, turning the abstract—numbers, spreadsheets, databases—into tangible experiences. Their work has been in over 45 countries through a multitude of mediums: exhibitions, films, designs, robotics, and web and theatre productions that transform public spaces, schools, prisons and even the United Nations Headquarters into interactive narratives.
A pivotal figure in Armenia’s contemporary art scene, he has led key initiatives from founding private galleries to launching art publications. His work centers on curatorial education, institutional development, and the socio-political dimensions of art, positioning him as a driving force in connecting Armenian contemporary art to global discourse.
He co-coordinates the Erasmus Mundus Master on managing art in global markets and serves on Portugal’s UNESCO World Heritage committee. His work connects historical research with contemporary discourse, offering valuable insight into positioning Armenian art in regional and global contexts.
art consultant with 20 years of experience navigating the contemporary art world across global markets, with extensive experience in collection building in the US, Europe, Middle East, and Asia. He has managed wide-ranging collections and projects, and has a long history of curating and managing major public exhibitions at museums and locations throughout Europe and Asia, collaborating with major brands and institutions including Art Basel, Tate, and Guggenheim
International project manager who has implemented arts and cultural events in Yerevan, Geneva, Venice, Paris and New York. She produced the opera “Anoush” in Yerevan and Paris, organized a large exhibition of Armenian artists and worked on a major display of ancient manuscripts at Armenia’s national Materanadan museum.
She has held senior roles at institutions such as the Royal College of Art (London) and ADI- FAD at the Barcelona Design Museum. Her collaborations include projects with the World Economic Forum, V&A Museum, and EUIPO. For the Armenia Art Project, she brings expertise and curatorial strategy within global cultural contexts.
Project coordinator and exhibitor relations expert who has worked with the Armenia Art Fair. She is also a prolific contributor to the Wikimedia movement, creating articles and uploading photos that showcase Armenian culture, landmarks, and artists. Through her work, Armine promotes the preservation and dissemination of Armenian cultural heritage.
Marketing specialist who leverages social media and digital strategies to promote arts and cultural initiatives. With her extensive experiences Nata brings expertise social media management, and audience engagement. As a skilled photographer, she also captures compelling visuals that bring art and culture to life. Through her work, she helps increase visibility and reach for cultural projects, making them more accessible to diverse audiences.
The long-term vision of AMCA is to establish Armenian art as a vital and dynamic part of the global art ecosystem. We aim to drive a critical reassessment of the past, present, and future value of Armenian artworks, not only in aesthetic terms but also in their cultural and economic significance. By enhancing visibility and fostering cross-cultural dialogue, we seek to create lasting opportunities for Armenian artists, scholars, and cultural practitioners. Our efforts are designed to build sustainable platforms for research, curatorial practice, and public engagement that can evolve with the shifting landscape of contemporary culture.
Through collaborations with leading institutions, exhibitions, scholarly publications, and digital innovation, AMCA aspires to integrate Armenian modern and contemporary art into broader global conversations. This work will lay the foundation for a more inclusive understanding of modernism and its many narratives, while also paving the way for the possible creation of a dedicated foundation. Such a foundation would preserve, promote, and support Armenian art and artists for future generations, ensuring that Armenia’s cultural contributions continue to enrich the world’s artistic heritage.
